The title made me chuckle too. Just back from Serenade and I can hear our ass't waiter declaring the contents and makeup of the bread basket at the beginning of dinner. Savory Bites! What a great name for a band!!!

Default Savory Bites !

Have a picture and the recipe too (many years later !), but official recipe starts with "25 lbs potato flour..." so I scaled it down to 1 lb, have not yet tried it, anyone who wants copy, send me an e-mail hgutman@att.net

I was getting ready to post that, until I saw your post. They are definitely poppy seeds. We still don't get what the big deal is about "savory bites". DH and I didn't particularly care for them.

I think the big deal is that they're little

I really love all types of bread, and try not to overdo rolls and butter before dinner. One savory bite with some butter keeps me happy enough. I feel noble passing up the full sized dinner roll for one savory bite; well, ok--maybe two savory bites

Im not sure I did this right but this should be a pic of a basket of savory bites that was on our table every night on the Oasis.

I was so excited the first night when I got my savory bite, the waiter made sure there was a full basket on the table each night.

Heavenly

Yes, Savory Bites and Honey Stung Chicken is worth the price of a cruise alone.

Just off Mariner. The first night there were no savory bites on the serving platter. We asked about them and the waiter said he'd bring us some. Every night he'd have a plate of bites for us, but there were never any on the platter being offered to anyone else. Anyone else seeing this?

OMG! A whole basket of savory bites? Awesome! Now that is a good waiter. Usually we ask for them and they dig around in the bread basket to try to find some.

Yes!, last couple of ships we were on it became almost a joke - we would ask for SBs, and the waiters would have to go elsewhere looking for them, like they were in short supply. Or, they would acour through the basket for a couple hidden in the bottom. Then, later in the cruise thay would show up once in a while with a basket for the table, like we had made a big SB score!
